Theresa May’s Conference Speech Backed By Marine Le Pen, French National Front Leader

She came third in the 2012 election. In December last year, FN attracted a record 6.8 million voters in regional elections.

Le Pen has pledged to hold a vote on France leaving the EU if she comes to power.

Le Pen has previously praised May, saying: “A woman has agreed to take on the task of carrying out Brexit. Theresa May does not take her position as Prime Minister lightly.

“She has undertaken great reforms to reindustrialise her country, to improve the education system, to make the social system fairer.”

At the time, Downing Street declined to comment on Le Pen’s praise, The New Statesman reported.
