It’s simple. A vote for Trump was a protest vote. People were fed up with the Political Establishment, which was very strongly represented by Secretary Clinton, also one of the most hated people in the USA. After decades of career politicians ruining the country, the American people have chosen the man that represents change. ‘Make America Great Again’ is his slogan, and it was an effective one at that. It fitted with his anti-immigration policies well, and many Americans are frustrated by the fact that they have over 50 million immigrants currently living in the country. With his policies to cut down immigration, he poached on people’s fears about how America was no longer ‘great’, by promising to make it so.
