Labour exposed: How party’s 20-year rule in Wales has failed to stop huge social care cost

A Welsh Labour spokesman said: “The Welsh Labour government is committed to ensuring that people who need social care are able to access a quality service, which is why it has devoted an increasing share of our own resources to social care – we spend £3,051 per person every year on health and social services, the highest in the four UK countries.

“As outlined in the Welsh Labour manifesto, with additional funding from a UK Labour government, we will work with communities to extend free social care in Wales.

“In government in Wales, we have met our commitment to invest more per head on social care than in England.

“We have delivered on our pledge to more than double the capital limit from £24,000 to £50,000.
