Nicola Sturgeon confronted on-air with angry warnings as ‘infuriated’ Scots erupt at SNP

“On the contrary, we are dealing with a virus that has taken more than 40,000 lives in less than four months.”

The First Minister said she is hoping to announce Scotland will enter into Phase 3 on Thursday as she renewed her warning to Scots not to be “complacent” about the risks they could face if the virus spiked again.

Ms Sturgeon said a total of 2,489 patients have died in Scotland after testing positive for coronavirus, up by one from 2,488 on Monday.

The First Minister confirmed 18,302 people have tested positive for the virus in Scotland, up by two from 18,300 the previous day.
