“I think the House, as Liz has just hinted, will find ways in which various options can be debated and voted upon, and it will be seen whether there’s a majority for any option.
“I think I’ve said, even a few months ago, that I thought probably there was in the House of Commons a majority for being in the customs union and being in the singles market, in other words a situation extraordinarily close to not leaving.
“But far enough away from staying that you wouldn’t need a second referendum.
“I mean, I think that may well be where we end up. But I think it may certainly be the case that Parliament will find a way of expressing its view and that a majority on something will emerge.”
