Mount has six goals and four assists in 25 league appearances this season and Everton and Australia legend Cahill picked out the Englishman as the most talented young player in the top flight.
‘I like the look of Mason Mount,’ Cahill told Sky Sports when asked to name the best young player in the league.

‘I think he’s a top goalscorer and he’s got a massive career ahead of him.
‘One of the reasons why I like him a lot is because of his coach (Frank Lampard) and the way that he’s trying to mould a player similar to himself.
‘He can lead him and show him the right ways.
‘You can see that starting to come to fruition with his football this season. I’m a big fan.’
Mount scored in his last game for Chelsea against Cahill’s former side Everton before the coronavirus lockdown began.
While Mount has had an excellent season, the 21-year-old landed himself in hot water with Chelsea when he left self-isolation pre-lockdown.
Chelsea’s squad were isolating after Callum Hudson-Odoi became the first Premier League player to test positive for coronavirus.
Mount apologised to Lampard and the entire of the UK has since gone into lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The football season has been extended indefinitely and league chiefs are still hopeful they will be able to resume action during the summer.
