July 2: Total Solar Eclipse
The total solar eclipse will be visible for only small areas of Chile and Argentina, shortly before sunset.
But people residing in Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay also have a chance of seeing a partial solar eclipse, weather permitting.
July 16-17: Partial Lunar Eclipse
The next lunar eclipse of 2019 starts at 6.43pm GMT.
Stargazers in Britain will only be able to see the lunar event once the moon is above the horizon.
This means they need to wait until the start of the maximum eclipse, running from 9.30pm to 10.30pm.
Large swathes of the planet will get to see at least a partial eclipse on this occasion but USA and Canada will miss out.
