UK Weather: Warnings As 70mph Winds And Rain Set To Batter UK

Severe gales and strong winds of up to 70mph are predicted to cause chaos across the south of the country on Wednesday night and continue for most of the week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for all of Wales, which will be in place across most of England for Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The warning extends to most of the country for Friday and Saturday, with heavy rains and winds predicted to get more intense. 

This could cause delays to rail, air and ferry transport and bridge restrictions could be enforced, forecasters warned.
