Genetic engineering: Homo Sapiens 2.0 IS COMING thanks to the power of gene modification

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Metzl argued humanity is already taking a series of rapid baby steps towards the next stage of human evolution.

But unlike the last six million years of life’s slow crawl towards where it is today, we are now taking a proactive role in where we are headed next.

When this happens, Homo Sapiens 2.0 will become the norm – an idea, which Mr Metzl said is always met with a rightful mix of fear and excitement.
