Although the monthly lunar cycle lasts an irregular 29.53 days, astronomers can exactly pinpoint when the next Full Moon appears.
Further complicating matters, the Moon does not follow the standard calendar and instead orbits our planet every 27 days.
As a result, the Full Moon appears on different days, at different times and sometimes two Full Moons will fall within a single calendar month.
The last Full Moon, the Beaver Moon, peaked around 1.34pm GMT on Tuesday, November 12.
The next Full Moon, the Cold Moon, will peak 10 days before the Winter Solstice on December 12 at 5.12am GMT.
