The basic cybertruck will be available for purchase for $39,000 (£30,000) with a top range model costing $69,900 (£54,460).
For an additional $7,000 (£5,453) customers will be able to purchase a “self-driving” option that will be able to drive itself once the software is completed.
Appearing on the Recode Decode podcast last year Mr Musk admitted his futuristic vehicle might struggle in the market.
He commented: “You know, I actually don’t know if a lot of people will buy this pickup truck or not, but I don’t care.
