Chelsea are already through to the quarter-finals after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to prevail 2-1 on aggregate.

Tottenham had hoped to join their London rivals in the last eight, but they were dumped out of the competition after falling to a 1-0 aggregate defeat to AC Milan.

Manchester City host Leipzig on Tuesday night with the tie level at 1-1, whilst Liverpool will likely need a miracle to beat Real Madrid on Wednesday having lost the first leg 3-0.

Here is everything you need to know about the knockout stages of the Champions League 2022/23.

When are the Champions League round of 16 fixtures?

The Round of 16 first legs took place in February.

The second legs will be held on March 7 and March 8, and then the following week on March 14 and March 15.

Every match will kick-off at 8pm UK time.

Will away goals count in the Champions League knockout rounds?

Away goals will not count in the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League.

The rule was abolished ahead of the 2021/22 season, having been used in European football since 1965.

UEFA opted to scrap the controversial rule after consultation with various football stakeholders, citing that home advantage is not as significant as it used to be.

If a knockout tie finishes level on aggregate after the second leg, extra-time and if required, penalties, will be used to determine the winner.

When is the Champions League final?

The Champions League final will be held on June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

The stadium was the venue for one of the most iconic Champions League finals of all time back in 2005, with Liverpool miraculously recovering from 3-0 down at half-time to eventually beat AC Milan on penalties.

Istanbul was originally due to host the 2020 final, but due to the pandemic, the showpiece in the Turkish capital was postponed until 2023.
