Manchester United winger Antony is set to miss Thursday’s Europa League clash against Real Betis, though there was better news for three of the Brazilian’s team-mates.
The former Ajax playmaker was absent from training on Tuesday morning as Erik ten Hag’s side prepare to take a 4-1 aggregate lead to Spain for their last-16 second leg tie.
United played against Southampton for 64 minutes with ten men on Sunday following the red card to Casemiro.
Alejandro Garnacho was already a casualty of the draw, with the Argentine expected to miss several weeks with an ankle injury.
But Antony could also be set for a spell out of the side, having missed training on Wednesday.
There was better news for Ten Hag elsewhere as Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and Marcel Sabitzer all participated in full training.
Martial has been missing for the last seven weeks with a hip injury and United have missed the Frenchman’s scoring threat and link-up play in attack.
Sabitzer’s return is particularly timely given Casemiro will miss the next four domestic matches through suspension.
Casemiro is a booking away from being suspended for the first leg of the quarter-finals and could therefore be rested against Betis, despite his domestic ban.
