World-first super steaks from ‘elite’ cows could soon be sold in UK

Steaks and burgers made from cows with “elite genetics” could hit supermarket shelves in the UK in around three years, following a world-first breeding project. US scientists have developed a way to insert the semen of prize bulls into inferior, sterile bulls, so they too can produce offspring with desirable genes. The method results in cattle that are healthier, tasty, more environmentally friendly and more profitable, according to researchers.
