UK company to play key role in Artemis 2 key mission

The Artemis 2 mission serves as a crucial test flight in the broader Artemis program, marking a major milestone on the path toward eventually returning humans to the lunar surface. Now, a Cornish space centre will be providing communications support by passively tracking the Orion spacecraft as it journeys around the moon and back to earth. Goonhilly, a ground station near a stunning market town Helston, will be at the centre of the process. UK space minister Liz Lloyd said: “Goonhilly’s rich heritage in space communication continues to inspire. It’s fantastic to see Cornwall once again at the heart of a truly historic moment in human spaceflight.
