Manchester United are set to agree a fresh loan deal with Trabzonspor for goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Onana, a £47million signing from Inter Milan three years ago, was shipped out of Old Trafford last summer after a calamitous spell in goal, joining the Turkish side on a season-long loan deal.
That deal expired at the end of the season and the Cameroon international was scheduled to return to Carrington for the start of pre-season training next month despite being told he would not be part of Michael Carrick’s plans next season.
Talks have taken place for Onana to return to Trabzonspor with Onana now on the brink of rejoining the club for a second spell.

It is understood that United will receive a loan fee from Trabzonspor in a deal that does not currently have any option to buy.
Onana made 33 appearances for the Turkish side last season, helping them win the Turkish Cup.
Despite reports claiming at one stage Onana harboured hopes of returning to Manchester to fight for his place, there has been no prospect of him playing regularly for United again.
The former Ajax star arrived at the club tasked with becoming the long-term successor to David de Gea. That role is now with Senne Lammens, who joined United from Royal Antwerp last summer, enjoying a superb first season in the Premier League.
United are hoping to sign another back-up goalkeeper this summer with last season’s no2 Altay Bayindir also expected to move on.
Leeds United’s Karl Darlow has been linked, as has Wolves’ Sam Johnstone, who came through the youth ranks at United.
Also on their radar is Scotland’s Angus Gunn,, who is available on a free transfer after just one year at Nottingham Forest.
United also have the highly-rated Radek Vitek on their books, returning to the club after a fantastic loan spell with Bristol City.
However, the 23-year-old is likely to leave as he wants first-team football next season with newly-promoted Hull City interested.
