A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap following the disappearance of a woman in Lancashire last week.
Katie Kenyon, 33, was reported missing after last being seen leaving “an address on Todmorden Road in Burnley with a man on Friday morning” and getting into a silver Ford Transit van, Sky News reported. Police said that the vehicle, registration MT57 FLC, travelled to the Bolton by Bowland area of north Lancashire.
In a Facebook post, the missing woman’s sister, Sarah Kenyon, wrote: “It is now a waiting game, we have done everything we can, searched everywhere, contacted everyone.” She added: “This is breaking us all.”
Detective Chief Inspector Al Davies of Lancashire Police’s major investigation team said that “Katie’s disappearance is out of character” and that the force was “doing all we can to try and find her”.
A man from Burnley had been arrested in connection with the investigation but “I am very much keeping an open mind as to what has happened”, Davies said. He added: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information, however insignificant you may think it is, to come forward and contact us.”
Investigators are urging anyone who may have seen Kenyon, “or who may have dashcam footage of a van matching the description” of the Ford Transit, to come forward, said ITV News.
The missing woman is white, 5ft 9in and has shoulder-length blonde hair. She was wearing a blue cardigan, a light blue and white top, black leggings and flip flops when last seen.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or to contact the force through the Major Incident Public Portal. Alternatively, contact independent charity CrimeStoppers online or on 0800 555 111.
