There’s also an intense lack of privacy for young people, as their lives are documented, spliced and edited to portray a certain picture of themselves on social media. Most of my girlhood, up until the age of 13, was mostly lived offline: renting scary movies or taking my well-worn DVDs of The Princess Diaries to sleepovers, staying up late chatting over pizza, going on adventure walks and ending up covered in mud and forest.
