Amazon Prime’s “Disasters in Space” series revealed how just 45 days before launch, NASA discovered the wrong material had been used inside a fuel tanker.
The 2016 series detailed: “The space shuttle is comprised of the orbiter, the engine, two rocket boosters and the external tank.
“The 145ft tank supplies fuel to the space shuttle main engines during launch and ascent and is comprised of two fuel tanks holding liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen respectively.
“Every mission requires a new external tank, as it is released and disintegrates into the Indian Ocean.
