The scientists analysis of thousands of computer simulations revealed that there is only a 0.2 percent chance that these clusters could have formed on their own, meaning the gravitational pull of something huge farther out than the Kuiper Belt may have been influencing them.
Co-author of the study Mike Brown, professor of planetary astronomy, said: Though this analysis does not say anything directly about whether Planet Nine is there, it does indicate that the hypothesis rests upon a solid foundation.”
Evidence of a Planet Nine grows stronger, but researchers will not be confident that it is there until they can actually see it.
