“Some youngest siblings genuinely do present as the ‘fun’ and carefree one, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t carrying emotional weight,” Tahim echoed. “In therapy, we often explore whether that identity is an authentic part of who they are or a role they learned to play within their family. Humour, spontaneity and being the easygoing sibling can become ways of maintaining harmony, avoiding conflict or making sure they’re liked and accepted.”
