Unions are battling the government in a “new winter of discontent”, says the i paper. Union chiefs will meet next week to coordinate strikes after 100,000 civil servants joined nurses, train drivers, transport workers, and others in voting in favour of industrial action.
“What is the point of these police?” asks the Daily Mail as it features a picture of more than a dozen officers watching an environmental protester who scaled a gantry over the M25 yesterday, forcing a part of the motorway to close for the fourth day in a row.
Meanwhile, Metro features a leaked transcript in which Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams made demeaning and insulting remarks about contestants on the show. The paper says the comic had to “grovel” after the leak.
